Scroll distance
Feeds are measured in time. Thumbs experience them as distance. How far does yours travel in a year?
Your thumb, per year
Model: about 40% of in-app time is active scrolling, moving content roughly 7.5 meters per minute — a deliberately conservative estimate.
Why distance, not time?
Hours are abstract. A number with a landmark next to it is not. When your yearly scroll clears the Eiffel Tower before February, the feed stops feeling weightless.
The antidote isn't heroic willpower — it's making the feed heavier to open: grayscale, blockers, or a phone that can't scroll at all.
